Boone's Chapel open this weekend

A chance this weekend to visit one of the jewels in Lewisham's heritage crown. Boone's Chapel was built in 1682 as a private almshouse chapel with four houses attached. It was the gateway to the founders’ house, Lee Place, and became their mausoleum. It was unused and derelict from the 1940s and is one of the two Grade I listed buildings in Lewisham. It has been fully restored and is now in use as an architects’ office.

Boone’s Chapel is open to the public 30 days a year. Unless otherwise stated openings are on Saturdays and Sundays, 12.00pm to 5.00pm. Visitors can see the chapel interior and immediate garden. The main almshouse garden is closed to the public. You will also be able to see a series of changing exhibitions on themes associated with the chapel’s history as well as contemporary art, design and architecture. The chapel is wheel chair accessible. There are no toilet facilities.

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March, 12-5.00pm
