Live literature with Anthony Painter, author of Barack Obama: The Movement for Change

Anthony Painter will be visiting Lewisham Library to discuss his book about the new president of the United States.

Barack Obama: The Movement for Change tells the story of a visionary leader who refuses to be limited by America’s history and determines instead to change it. Through the biography of the man, a window on America in the 21st century is revealed. America has changed and Barack Obama’s story tells us how and why, and what we can expect.

Anthony Painter is a freelance political commentator who regularly contributes to the Independent and Tribune, and who also writes for a variety of other national publications. He was awarded the New Statesman prize for political writing in 2003 and will be a Labour candidate for the European Parliament in 2009.
