How do you fancy seeing three Londony authors talk about their books with Londonist’s Matt Brown, for free?
A similar event at Lewisham Library in September quickly filled up so in a couple of weeks we’re going to Deptford Lounge, the borough’s swanky – and larger – new library-slash-community centre. Joining Matt for fun and chat will be:
- Christopher Fowler (er, pictured), author of over 30 novels and 12 short story collections, most famous of which are the Bryant and May mysteries with their octogenarian detectives and the Peculiar Crimes Unit
- Craig Taylor, author of Londoners, which is our favourite London book in a long time. He also used to write the Guardian’s One million tiny plays about Britain
- Tom Jones, who will doubtless be more familiar to many as the man behind Tired of London, Tired of Life, suggestions of one thing a day to do in London. He also organises Talk to Strangers.
Londonist.com presents London Reads on 22 May, 7pm, at Deptford Lounge, Giffin Street, SE8 4RW. Tickets are free but you’re strongly advised to book ahead.
