A festival will see over 1400 performers descend on Lewisham in a celebration of the borough’s dance and musical talent. Blackheath Halls, the Broadway Theatre and the Albany will play host to an eclectic mix of genres and styles showcasing the skills of fledgling musicians. In a borough with the highest rate of youth unemployment in the country, the festival’s organisers claim it will provide a welcome opportunity.

Rose Ballantyne, Education and Community Officer at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music & Arts said:”‘This is a wonderful example of how a hub of arts organisations can work together to improve and promote musical opportunities for young people.”

Events will include a live ‘digital band’, a dance showcase and live on stage music throughout the month, starting on March 13 at the Blackheath Halls. To get involved, click here, follow @LEWISHAMLIVE on Twitter, or ‘like’ them on Facebook .
