Lewisham Council is encouraging residents and visitors to support the borough and the cancer charity the Lavender Trust by buying a Lewisham Calendar for 2010. The calendar is available from all Lewisham libraries and costs only £7.
It features scenic photos from around the borough, all taken by local residents. People were invited to send in photos and Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, handpicked the best dozen for inclusion. The calendar also highlights key 2010 dates for Lewisham events like People’s Day and Blackheath Fireworks.
Sir Steve said: “I’d like to thank everyone who sent in their photographs. The standard was extremely high and selecting the final twelve wasn’t easy. Anyone who buys this calendar will, I’m sure, agree that the quality of the pictures included is exceptional. I’d urge everyone to go out and buy this calendar. It makes an ideal Christmas gift and it’s all in a very good cause.”
